Afterthoughts - Anna and the French Kiss

So I am starting a new thing where I write posts based on certain books or movies, be it impressions, afterthoughts, or general things I seem to get out of the book/movie. Because I think no two people ever get the same thing out of the same book/movie, it’s always different based on your personal beliefs, experiences, etc…

So without further ado, here is the first one!
 ---

-“he talks until it’s as if he weighs an entire person lighter...”

- “we keep talking and then talk some more..”

I wonder why do writers always use such expressions in books, it actually kind of annoys me; mentioning the notion of talking –deep talking- to someone without really going into detail about the actual conversation they have/had.

As a naturally curious person, I would actually like to hear/read more about those talks. I want to see and understand what it is like to feel like you can talk to this particular person forever without really running out of topics to talk about or simply getting bored.

I believe that it is one of those once in a lifetime experiences –that’s probably my alter ego speaking-, because so often, it feels like you need a break from conversations, I get tired of conversing with people in general no matter how dear to my heart they might be.

But to have someone who you would never get tired of conversing with or talking to is a true blessing I believe, because probably -and hopefully- it’s a vice versa situation.

Still, what happens when all the words run out?

I mean, they ought to at some point, if not in a year then it will be in 5, 10, twenty years later…

Sometimes I think the writers never really go into detail about these conversations because the characters wouldn’t really have anything to say for the rest of the book, a sad thought but probably true.

Or maybe, just maybe these conversations are reserved like any conversations between two people who have a certain connection, they only come out when and if they happen and cannot be otherwise experienced by anyone else.

Whichever theory tickles your fancy really.
