A very stressed blurb

These past two months have been very very hectic, stressful in many ways to sum it up. The minute senior year of uni kicked off, there was not one day that passed were I wasn't absolutely miserable at the end of the day. Hi, hello whats up, it has been forever. In fact, I have been trying to write this post (checks drafts) since September! Everything has been s o rushed to the point were before I know it two+ months have passed. With the field of study I have chosen, researches were done way too many times these past few years, and it is no secret that I am not the best brainstorm-er out there. I have ideas in my head, however they are rather hard to explain or execute on paper a lot of times. As I am writing this it is the end of insanely busy two weeks were I basically went to uni, ate, barely slept and spent 95% of my time in front of the laptop with the irritation eye drops on the ready. Two final projects were supposed to be submitted...

22 things in 22 years!

Image retrieved from Google Images. This month I turned 22. Twenty two years of living, breathing and human-ing about in this messy thing we call life. Now I am not particularly the most adventurous person alive –I wish hah! –, nor can I say that my-oh so many ‘experiences’ qualify me to start giving away all the wisdom in life, but I can say this: I have lived, walked, talked and existed on this planet for 22 years. Throughout this time I have met people, had my fair share of small life experiences, and got run over by a –rather large- truck of emotions, survived high school and three bloody years of university, seriously where has the time gone? And I would say –not un-proudly- that I have developed quite the guidebook for myself when it comes to a lot of situations and living ish things. And because I am a cliché like that,  Here are 22 things I gathered in 22 years: 1.      Life always finds a way, whether you like it or not...

Blessings

Allow me to talk about blessings. Things we are granted in our lives that usually make the pain of living on this earth, enduring shitty people and going on with day to day tedious chores a little bit more tolerable , things that we realize that without them, our lives would not be the same because simply, they are a blessing from above. Or simply, things that make your life better just by being in it.  There are the blessings we barely notice anymore, the fact that we can walk, talk, laugh and breathe like any normal human being. Then there are blessings that we notice from time to time; like the fact that we have money in our pockets, functional families – to an extent –,  a roof over our heads, food on our tables and water coming out of our tabs and healthy functioning bodies, blessings that became a causality even though they truly are blessings, that a lot of other people strive to have for a day. And then there is the most underestimated ble...

Overthinking about overthinking?

For the past few weeks I have been religiously doing one thing; overthinking . If a person could overthink their life away that would probably be me, no doubts there. Now if you are someone who is familiar with overthinking, then I don't need to explain what I mean by that, however if you are someone who is blessed enough and has no idea what I have been doing with myself for the past few weeks, then let me explain. Whenever I find myself with time to spare, my mind automatically goes into overdrive about anything and everything . I would start thinking about my life and whether I am living it as I should be or not, I would start thinking about my education, my non-existent career path that I should start and the impending graduation that I will soon have to face and then very very closely followed by LIFE . All this could very well sound like everyday worries everyone experiences and thinks about, I mean, it all comes back to this whether we like it or ...

Afterthoughts - Ruby Sparks

This time it is the Movie, Ruby Sparks, for directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris and writer/co-star Zoe Kazan. In this movie, Calvin, a lonely writer suddenly finds a character he made up/wrote living in his house, practically in love with him. Only to realize soon afterwards that this girl, is basically his creation and anything he wants to change or add in her character can be done so easily through writing, which he vows to never use because she is his dream girl, but soon he succumbs to the temptations.  “It was once said of Catcher in the Rye. That rare miracle of fiction has again come to pass. A human being has been created out of ink, paper and the imagination.” – Calvin Weir-Fields. As things unfold, the  character starts getting paranoid of how rapidly she changes, and he becomes obsessed with the idea that he can fully control her every move, and this lead me to think that p eople have become obsessed with trying to have full control ov...

Who told you I wasn't free?

Woman With Hijab by Rosie The Riveter Everyone is free to do whatever they want unless you’re a woman, there are quite a few limitations to that... Everyone is free to practice their faith without getting called out for it, unless you’re a Muslim –woman-… Everyone is free to wear whatever they want, however they want, as long as they mind their own business, -that is of course- unless you’re a veiled Muslim woman.  It’s like the tri-factor of doom in this day and age; because while people scream and chant for equality, for acceptance, for global freedom, some are chanting it in the faces of those who need not be freed of anything but the constant stares, the trials at forced freedom of bounds only existing in the heads of those trying to free them. We need education before anything else, globally . Being a feminist has become quite the trend if I might say, but being a veiled feminist? God forbid! You need to be freed at first sister! I understand...

Afterthoughts - Anna and the French Kiss

So I am starting a new thing where I write posts based on certain books or movies, be it impressions, afterthoughts, or general things I seem to get out of the book/movie. Because I think no two people ever get the same thing out of the same book/movie, it’s always different based on your personal beliefs, experiences, etc… So without further ado, here is the first one!  --- -“he talks until it’s as if he weighs an entire person lighter...”    - “we keep talking and then talk some more..” I wonder why do writers always use such expressions in books, it actually kind of annoys me; mentioning the notion of talking – deep talking - to someone without really going into detail about the actual conversation they have/had. As a naturally curious person, I would actually like to hear/read more about those talks. I want to see and understand what it is like to feel like you can talk to this particular person forever without really running out of t...
